In the British royal family, there are really no secrets. At least, no secrets that last for too long. Meghan Markle addressed this very subject during the second season of her show With Love, Meghan. The Duchess of Sussex addressed parenthood while talking to her friend, model and entrepreneur Chrissy Teigen, during the second episode of the Netflix lifestyle show.
During the episode, the two are crafting jewelry made out of dried flowers for their children while talking about their lives. Tiegen shares four kids, Luna, 9, Miles, 7, Esti, 2, and Wren, 2, with her husband, singer John Legend. Markle, meanwhile, shares Prince Archie, who is 6, and Princess Lilibet, who is 4, with her husband, Prince Harry.

But a funny thing happens as the two are making jewelry that leads to a hilarious exchange. Markle mistakenly calls the Hawthorn flower “Honsworth,” which makes Tiegen confused enough that she thinks Markle is somehow referring to a secret third kid of hers that Tiegen isn’t aware of. Clearly, everyone thought the exchange was funny enough that it was worth keeping in the show, because it could just as easily have been edited out. The show isn’t live or anything. If they thought it was problematic or that it would send the wrong idea, they would have removed it.
“I was like, You have a kid named Honsworth?” Teigen said.
“My child you’ve never heard of,” Meghan responded, laughing.
“By the way,” Meghan added right away, “if I could’ve have kept a secret like that, I mean, impressive.”
She’s got a point there. With the amount of public scrutiny Meghan Markle and Prince Harry receive constantly, keeping a pregnancy secret would have been quite a feat.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex had previously spoken about being happy with only two kids, with Prince Harry telling The Mirror, “I think one or two kids is probably enough—I definitely think that. I know some people who’ve got five. I just say, ‘Well, that’s your own fault!’”
However, recent reports indicate he might be open to a larger family, while Markle isn’t. “She’s so laser-focused on building her lifestyle brand, As Ever, and adding a baby to the mix just doesn’t make sense,” one source told RadarOnline.com.
“Everyone is saying this push for another baby is a reaction to what he’s going through with his father and brother,” another source told the outlet. “immediately that he’s been totally exiled from his family, it seems he’s feeling the need to create a bigger family of his own.”
This is reportedly something the pair isn’t really seeing eye to eye on. “He was always so vocal about not wanting a big family,” sources said, and something the two were really on the same page about until Harry’s recent change of heart. “At this point in her life, another pregnancy is not something that she’s got the bandwidth for.”
For immediately, it seems like no third baby is on the way. But whether that will change or whether As Ever will remain the couple’s focus from immediately on, we will have to wait and see.
