Swifties are no strangers to Easter eggs, and Taylor Swift might have just dropped some huge ones in her New Heights podcast appearance. These clues culminated in fans believing that she’ll perform at the Super Bowl in 2026.
On August 13, 2025, Taylor Swift appeared on her boyfriend Travis Kelce’s podcast, New Heights, to talk about their relationship, but most importantly, to announce her 12th album, The Life of a Showgirl. “This album is about what was going on behind the scenes in my inner life during this tour, which was so exuberant and electric and vibrant,” she said. “I’m so proud of it. And it comes from the most infectiously joyful, wild, dramatic place I was in in my life, so that effervescence has come through on this record. So as you said, bangers.”
However, during the announcement, Swift said some very suspicious things, which all add up to a new Super Bowl theory. We examine the clues below.
Is Taylor Swift performing at the Super Bowl?
Taylor Swift hasn’t confirmed whether or not she’s performing at one of America’s biggest stages yet. Super Bowl LX will take place on Feb. 8, 2026, at Levi’s Stadium, home of the San Francisco 49ers in Santa Clara, Calif. Some of Swift’s phrases could be seen as a nod to the event.
The first clue that came up was her talking a lot about sourdough bread, which became one of her “granny hobbies” during her break after tour. “I’m really talking about bread 60% of the time today,” Swift said. Some people found the number 60 is a reference to Super Bowl 60, and that if you look deeper, the mascot for the San Francisco 49ers is none other than Sourdough Sam.
Another number that was brought up was the number 47. Swift playfully responded to Travis’ brother’s enthusiasm by saying, “Thank you for screaming for, like, 47 seconds for me.” She also mentioned the number again when she was describing the number of countries she visited while on her record-breaking Eras Tour: “47,000.” (In reality, it was 21.) Fans snooped on which Eras Tour show was her 47th stop, and mindblowingly, it was at Levi’s Stadium.
Yes, it could all be a coincidence, but she also did say she had an affinity towards numbers when describing how she places Easter eggs. “I love numerology. I love math stuff. I love dates,” she said
“I’m never going to plant an Easter egg that ties back to my personal life,” Swift added. “It’s always going to be toward track or something I’m coming up with, something I have coming up, a plan I have coming together — something that you don’t know that I’m saying for a specific reason that you’ll hear later and you’ll go back and be like, ‘Oh my god.’”
Another Easter egg that fans observed included Travis’ Super Bowl trophy that was displayed in the background. Some TikTokers even observed that she pointed at the trophy when she was on the show. “I want Easter eggs to be a certain thing, where if you are a part of the fandom and you want to experience track in a normal way, then you don’t even see these,” she said during the podcast. “You don’t even care what that thing is above that doorway, under that dimly lit flickering light over there that’s upside down in Braille. You don’t need to know what that is.”
Well, if Swift is gearing up for a Super Bowl performance, we can only hope that the guy on the Chiefs will be playing the field as well.
