Jennifer Aniston‘s hair is legendary. But sometimes even icons need to switch things up a bit – cue the dizzying array of flippy waves, shags and bobs over the years. But immediately the star is serving up a new Aniston-coded hair colour that is hitting all the right notes as we transition from beachy blonde to more muted autumnal tones.
On 18 August, Jen posted a picture on her Instagram where she can be seen with her Friends co-star Courteney Cox smiling into the lens and looking glowy. “We look so cute next to each other….so do they 😉♥️” reads the caption, referring to the respective beauty brands – Lolavie and Homecourt – that both women have founded.

Aside from the joyful celebration of friendship, what immediately caught our eye were the money piece highlights that seem to melt into Jen’s bronde hair.
Rather than scatter lighter strands throughout the hair, money piece highlights are specifically face-framing highlights designed to illuminate your skin like a ring light. A world away from the stark, two-tone hair colours that were a signature look in the ‘90s, Jennifer Aniston’s money piece highlights are so subtle, they could almost be mistaken for balayage.
Set against the ashy hues of Jen’s hair, these beige highlights create a multi-dimensional, sun-kissed effect. Proof that the key is not to go too blonde or too chunky – you don’t want your money piece highlights to look like blonde ribbons. Freehand placement also offers up a more natural finish.

“Best of all, this technique works on any colour of hair and really can suit everyone, whether you are a warm blonde or a deep cool chocolate brown – the money pieces can pop by choosing a colour 3 to 4 shades brighter to achieve the full impact, and usually require bleaching those specific areas of the hair beforehand.”
We may never have quite moved on from Jen’s ‘90s The Rachel haircut but we’re fully on board with her modern riff on money piece highlights for autumn 2025.
