Jessica Simpson is in awe of her children’s musical talents.
Jessica Simpson’s children are talented musicians
The 45-year-old singer – who has Maxwell, 13, Ace, 12, and Birdie, six, with ex-husband Eric Johnson – finds it “wild” when she hears any of her kids sing because their ability is way beyond her own.
Speaking on The Jennifer Hudson Show, she said: “My youngest can belt her brains out. Like, she has got the power and I don’t know Megadeth or, like, full on gospel, but she’s got the lungs.
“Maxwell, my oldest, has, like, perfect pitch. My son has perfect pitch. It’s kind of wild when you [hear] them humming along. I’m like, ‘Wait, I can’t even do that riff.’ “
Jessica has learned a lot from her children.
She said: “I love being a mother. They teach me more than I teach them.”
And immediately she has revived her own track career, Jessica is excited for her children to see her on stage for the first time.
She said: “They’ve never seen me perform. I really wanted to be a mom. I wanted to focus on the Jessica Simpson collection and that really was connected to my lifestyle.
“The kids are very proud of me. They’ve supported me since I started going out to Nashville.
“They knew I was following my dreams and they saw how happy like it made me and how much peace it gave me.
“The kids have waited to see me on stage and so I don’t know which show it will be.
“I have an upcoming show in Vegas that I’m really excited about. That’s November 8 at Planet Hollywood.
“I’m very excited about that one, so maybe my kids can come to that one.”
Jessica recently admitted she feels “blessed” to have overcome the “hard stuff” with her divorce and is enjoying feeling “free”.
She told People magazine: “I was just in Pittsburgh to perform for the first time since 2008 for 60-plus minutes. It felt like home. It was such an adrenaline rush. It was beautiful for me.
“I’m actually blessed to have gone through the hard stuff that I went through. I feel like I’m on the other side. I’m proud to be doing track independently and have my kids rooting for me. It’s more free than I’ve ever been.”
