Femme It Forward’s fourth annual Give Her FlowHERS Gala on November 21 brought out several celebrity moms and their children.
Jhené Aiko
Jhené Aiko arrived with her daughter Namiko, who joined her onstage as she accepted the Glow Getter Award. The award honors women who exemplify wellness, self-care, and purpose.
After the show, the singer took to Instagram to share her gratitude, writing, “Thank you @femmeitforward for a beautiful evening and for choosing me to receive the “Glow Getter Award”.”
She added, “I am beyond grateful to have shared this moment with my family, who have carried me through my darkest days… lending me their light so that I never lose my spark… showing me what it means to be of service and prioritize family; the embodiment of love.”
Teyana Taylor
Teyana Taylor also made the evening a family affair, arriving with daughters Junie and Rue and her mother, Nikki Taylor. Later in the program, Teyana stepped onstage to present the Queens Raising Queens Award to Nikki. The honor celebrates mothers and maternal figures whose guidance helps empower the next generation of women.
Other moms and artists making an impact across the industry were spotlighted. Ciara picked up the Muse Award for her influence and iconic catalog, and Kehlani accepted the Alchemist Award for turning challenges into creative power. Mariah The Scientist, Olandria Carthen, Ravyn Lenae and Normani were also celebrated.
Launched in 2022, the gala celebrates the strength, talent and creative impact of women whose voices and vision influence the world.
“To every woman watching, listening, or quietly dreaming, remember your story is sacred; your roots are strong; and your flower will bloom in its own divine timing,” Femme It Forward founder and CEO Heather Lowery said during her closing speech.
Proceeds from the gala will benefit Next Gem Femme, the organization’s mentorship program focused on helping women break into and advance within the track and entertainment industries.
