Jimmy Kimmel Live! will be airing in more cities starting TONIGHT.
On Tuesday night (September 23), the late-night talk show returned to the air after a six-day suspension following the 57-year-old host’s comments in the wake of right-wing podcast Charlie Kirk‘s death.
However, Sinclair Broad Group said at the time that they would not be be airing Kimmel on their ABC-owned stations as they continued to evaluate the situation.
Three days after his return on the air, Sinclair has announced that they will start airing Kimmel again beginning on Friday night, September 26.

“Over the last week, we have received thoughtful feedback from viewers, advertisers, and community leaders representing a wide range of perspectives,” the company continued. “We have also witnessed troubling acts of violence, including the despicable incident of a shooting at an ABC affiliate station in Sacramento. These events underscore why responsible broadcasting matters and why respectful dialogue between differing voices remains so important.”
Sinclair owns, operates, and provides services to more than 180 local TV stations, reaching nearly 40% of U.S. households, according to NorthJersey.com. The company operates nearly 40 ABC affiliates and is considered one of the most powerful syndicators in the country.
While this means that Kimmel will be airing in more cities around the United States, the show is still not being aired everywhere again as another broadcasting group, Nextstar, hasn’t put the show back on their ABC affiliates yet.
