Joe Giudice wants his ex-wife, Teresa Giudice, to make amends with her brother, Joe Gorga, and his wife, Melissa Gorga.
After the 53-year-old Real Housewives of New Jersey star admitted she was open to the idea, despite her prior claims, Giudice, also 53, said he hopes to see the family “grow up” and reconcile for the sake of their children, before suggesting that Teresa launch a dessert line to rival her sister-in-law’s sprinkle cookie collection.
“I think they should reconcile and think about the kids and put their BS behind them,” he told OK! Magazine on September 19. “The kids don’t talk because of the parents, which is pretty sad.”
Because the Gorgas are “the only side of the family” Teresa has left, Giudice suggested they “put aside the BS and move on.”
“Life is short,” he noted.
While Giudice then said that he thinks Teresa should “come out with her own pignoli cookies and shove it in Melissa’s face,” he alluded to the idea being a friendly “competition.”
“You compete and life goes on. That’s what life is about. Maybe she can make a better pignoli cookie than her sprinkle cake. Whatever the he** she sells,” he stated.
“Stop pointing fingers and move on,” he continued. “Grow up. Life is short, and it’s always [about putting the] kids first. Kids always come first. BS comes second. If they fight again, they fight again. We’ll put it behind you. Start again. A new fight.”
As RHONJ fans have surely seen, Teresa offered an “olive branch” to her brother and Melissa on her podcast last week as she denied her change of heart was made in an effort to secure her season 15 return.
“Before I was very adamant — and I was just like absolutely not,” she said on Turning the Tables by Teresa Giudice. “And I know everyone’s saying today, ‘Oh my god, she’s saying it today cause she’s desperate. She needs a job.’ That’s not the case … I’m just saying my door is cracked open.”
“Listen, people do change and things happen in life that make you evolve and grow and that’s all I’m saying,” she added. “And another big thing — time heals all wounds. That saying is so true. After a while you’re just like — I guess when a lot of time passes, you forget things. Meaning you’re not as angry as when you first were. And I guess if you’re happy in your life, then that’s what I want to exude. I want to exude happiness. I don’t want to be angry.”
As for Melissa, she addressed Teresa’s comments at Page Six’s “Virtual Reali-Tea” Awards, saying, “The door has been closed.”
“I’m just confused why it might be opening or cracking a little bit. And like, is it the timing? You know, what’s going on here?” she wondered.
