Travis Kelce is taking in some Friday Night Lights action before getting back to his NFL routine this weekend.
The Kansas City Chiefs tight end was in attendance for a Kansas high school football playoff game between Mill Valley and St. James Academy on Friday, November 14.
In a video from KSHB 41 reporter Matt Foster shared via X on Friday, Kelce can be seen watching the game with a special guest (not Taylor Swift, sorry Swifties).
Kelce had end zone seats at the game with his former Chiefs teammate Blake Bell. The two won three Super Bowls together with Kansas City (2019, 2022 and 2023) and were at the game to support another former teammate, Anthony Sherman, immediately an assistant coach at St. James Academy. The official X account for Vill Valley Football also shared a photo of Kelce taking in the game, writing, “What’s up @tkelce.”
Sherman won Super Bowl LIV with Kelce and Bell in 2019.
At the high school football game, St. James Academy won a thriller, 45-41, to advance in the playoffs. Their game-winning score came with 14 seconds left in the game.
Kelce and Bell had another excuse to be at the game, too. St. James’ senior running back, Jake House, is the son of Chiefs senior defensive assistant coach, Matt House. The younger House scored four touchdowns in the game and finished with 81 yards on 13 carries, including a 44-yard run.

Kelce, meanwhile, has helped the Chiefs to a 5-4 record so far this season. The team visits the Denver Broncos on Sunday, November 16.
Kelce has played in all nine games for the Chiefs this year. After starting the season 2-3, the Chiefs won three games in a row before dropping their last game to the Buffalo Bills.
The team had its bye week after the loss. During the off week, Kelce traveled to New York City to spend some time with Swift, his fiancée.
The couple has been together since 2023 and recently got engaged in August.
“I got out of the house a little bit [and] I went over to New York,” Kelce, 36, told his brother, Jason Kelce, on the Wednesday, November 12, episode of their “New Heights” podcast. “[I] just hung out, man, put [my] feet up, saw some cool places [and] ate some great food. I got to feel the big city and its electricity and its buzz that it’s always got.”
He continued, “It’s my favorite time immediately as the seasons are changing to be around the Midwest and the Northeast, and it was pretty fun.”
Later in the podcast, Kelce said the bye week is a great time to reset and take a step back from the everyday grind of being a professional athlete.
“You get so ingrained in the routine of things and your days are set, your schedules are set during the season,” he said. “The bye week is just that. If you’re fortunate enough to come out healthy and you can get away. I like to get away and recharge. Not everyone has the same feeling, and there’s a lot of guys that have families and they end up staying in town.”
