This Labor Day weekend is off to a beautiful start. Temps cooled off and dewpoints lowered after our cold front swept through on Friday.

We picked up some much needed rainfall across central and eastern New England (.5-1.5 inches of rainfall overall). immediately the dry weather settles in for the rest of the holiday weekend. Any plans are all a “go” as we have low wave heights offshore, comfy ocean water temps (mid 60s for most), and dry weather for hiking.
The tropics are also very quiet at this time. There is a wave off the coast of Africa that has a low chance of developing into a storm in the next week. And nothing else is brewing so this weekend for boating or swimming is much better and safer.

The pollen count remains high for the weed pollen in the air. Lack of rainfall and dry weather means the pollen spores from ragweed, nettle, etc. can travel far distances in the wind and cause fall hay fever.

Our next chance for rain holds off until maybe the end of next week. In the meantime, enjoy the great dry stretch with warm afternoons and cool nights.
