Lea Michele is preparing for her return to Broadway!
The former Glee star was joined by the leading men of her upcoming show Chess, Aaron Tveit and Nicholas Christopher, while seeing the marquee at the Imperial Theatre for the first time.
Chess playing at the Imperial on Broadway is a major homecoming for multiple reasons: Lea made her Broadway debut in the same theater while performing in Les Miserables 30 years ago and the original Broadway production of Chess also played there nearly 40 years ago.
The cast members were joined by director Michael Mayer for the visit to the theatre.
The first-ever Broadway revival of Chess begins performances in two months, on October 15.
Chess is the iconic musical where power and passion collide, and the stakes couldn’t be higher. It’s America versus Russia at the World Chess Championship, where the espionage and romance are as complicated and exhilarating as the game itself. For the two players and the woman torn between them, everything—personal, professional, and political—is at risk… and nobody’s rules are the same.
The track was written by ABBA’s Benny Andersson and Björn Ulvaeus and EGOT winner Tim Rice.
