Lil Wayne has gotten sucked into the ongoing Metro Boomin sexual assault civil trial.
On day two of the proceedings in Los Angeles, both the plaintiff, Vanessa LeMaistre, and Metro Boomin brought up the rap icon. LeMaistre testified that Lil Wayne’s 2011 banger “How to Love” was about her, claiming they dated for ten months. The court also heard that she once stated in an interview that Wayne fathered her late son, though the judge later dismissed the interview as irrelevant.
Metro took the stand and asserted that his sexual encounters with LeMaistre were consensual. He also said she told him her deceased child was Lil Wayne’s. The courtroom took a sharp turn when LeMaistre reacted visibly to that accusation.
She alleges that in 2016, after taking half an Xanax and a shot given by Metro to ease anxiety, she passed out in a hotel room and woke up to him assaulting her. She also said the incident led to a pregnancy and abortion. The lyrics from Metro’s track were mentioned in court as being offensive to her experience.
LeMaistre says she attended an ayahuasca ceremony in 2024. She claims that during the trip, she realized the alleged assault caused her ongoing pain and said she “channeled” Metro’s late mother, who allegedly expressed disappointment in her son. This led to LeMaistre filing the lawsuit, seeking upward of $3.7 million in damages.
Metro denies the allegations.
