Kiwi singer Lorde has issued an apology to fans after being forced to pull out of a show in Luxembourg due to getting sick.
The hitmaker, known for tracks including Royals and Tennis Court, 29, revealed she suffered a bout of “ruthless food poisoning” that left her barely able to stand.
The show in Luxembourg’s Rockhal was believed to be the opening night of the European leg of her Ultrasound World Tour.

Sharing a lengthy statement to social media, Lorde wrote, “Luxembourg, I am so sorry to have to tell you that I came down with ruthless food poisoning last night, and I’m still too sick to play for you today.”
“I’ve been resting all day, hoping I’d be well enough, but I can hardly stand up, and you deserve more.”
The singer, whose real name is Ella Marija Lani Yelich-O’Connor, apologised to her fans, saying, “My sincerest apologies to anyone inconvenienced or upset by this.”
“I can’t tell you how much I was looking forward to it. Our first ever Lux show, first night at Ultrasound EU, and our one show with OK Lou, it’s beyond gutting.”

She then assured fans shows will either be rescheduled or refunded.
“Thank you for your grace tonight. Love, from a very weak shorty x.”
In a follow up Instagram story, she shared a picture of herself sipping a hot drink, writing: “Thank u for ur grace and kindness all. See u tonight.”

Her next show dates, according to her website, is November 15, in Manchester, UK, as well as shows in London, Glasgow, and Dublin in coming weeks.
Lorde released her new album titled Virgin in June.
