McDonald’s new meal transports customers to McDonaldland.
On Tuesday, Aug. 5, the home of the Big Mac revealed it is launching a new McDonaldland Meal and it’s all about nostalgia.
McDonaldland is the chain’s mythical place where characters like Ronald McDonald, Grimace, Birdie and Hamburglar live, which was introduced in McDonald’s commercials during the early 1970s. today, the magical kingdom is reinvented in a meal, launching Tuesday, Aug. 12.

McDonaldland Meal comes with the choice of a Quarter Pounder with cheese or a 10-piece Chicken McNuggets, fries and the brand-new Mt. McDonaldland Shake.
The colorful shake is inspired by the blue lava and pink clouds of the mythical volcano, according to a press release.

Each meal comes with a tin full of collectibles, too. The collectible container comes with postcards and stickers honoring the beloved McDonald’s characters, “because no trip is complete without a souvenir,” per a press release. There are six unique tins for fans to get their hands on.
Last summer, McDonald’s released the Collector’s Meal for nostalgic customers.
The exclusive-time meal combined classic McDonald’s food items with a collectible cup, each decorated with references to Barbie and Hot Wheels, Beanie Babies, Coca-Cola polar bears, Hello Kitty and Peanuts, McDonald’s mascots, and a combination of Shrek, Jurassic Park and Minions.

The speedy food joint recently tapped into nostalgia with the return of a fan-favorite menu item. Snack Wraps came back to menus nationwide on July 10 in two flavors: Spicy and Ranch. Snack Wrap first anthem menus in the U.S. in 2006 and lasted a decade before being officially discontinued in 2016.
