Metro Boomin is fighting his sexual assault case rigorously, immediately bringing in the experts to help prove his innocence.
The producer has tapped a leading psychologist to scrutinize possible inconsistencies in the rape accusations filed against him. Dr. Elizabeth Loftus, a renowned expert on memory, will testify on his behalf. With over 300 cases under her belt, Dr. Loftus has served as a consultant in landmark trials involving figures such as Michael Jackson and Rodney King.
Dr. Loftus is prepared to examine how the alleged victim’s memories could have been affected by trauma, time, or psychological influences, potentially distorting the accuracy of her recollections. She has already noted “significant memory issues” with accuser, Vanessa LeMaistre.
The doctor also pointed out that LeMaistre allegedly continued to seek contact with Metro following the alleged incident, even asking to spend more time with him.
Loftus noted that after participating in an ayahuasca ceremony in May of last year, LeMaistre later added “new memories” to her legal complaint in August. Loftus also highlighted an attempt by LeMaistre to revise medical records related to her abortion in November 2016, noting that more information could come to light through further discovery.
Metro’s defense also enlisted Dr. April D. Thames, a psychologist with over 1,500 clinical assessments to her name. Dr. Thames suggested that the accuser may be suffering from PTSD and borderline personality disorder, both of which could influence her actions and memory. This could raise “legitimate questions regarding the plausibility and internal consistency of her narrative.”
LeMaistre has accused Metro of raping her in 2016 during a studio session. She claimed that he gave her Xanax and alcohol while she grieved the death of her infant son before taking advantage of her. LeMaistre also alleged that the encounter led to a pregnancy which she later terminated, and said the experience was referenced in Metro’s track. He has denied writing the lyrics in question and stated the sex was consensual.
The civil trial is scheduled to begin on September 23rd, 2025.
