Leland tells Entertainment Weekly that he is “grateful and thankful to God that I can finally put all of this nonsense behind me.”
“Based off of how I treat others and represent myself, never in a million years would I have thought I could be accused of such a disgusting and heinous act,” he added. “Today I took a victory in court but in reality there is a long list of losses I stacked up in this year long process of clearing my name and reputation.”
The plaintiff’s attorney, Michael J Willemin, shared how disappointed they are with the outcome.
“Though the legal system is often stacked against survivors, our client showed unwavering fortitude throughout this trial” the lawyer said. “We are disappointed in the outcome but are proud to represent Ms. LeMaistre and believe that the verdict will ultimately be overturned on appeal.”
The complaint was filed in October 2024, where she alleged they met in February 2016 and bonded over mutual depression. She then claims she took a Xanax and a shot of alcohol at his recording studio.
“The next thing Ms. LeMaistre can recall is waking up on a bed in a different location with Wayne raping her and being completely unable to move or make a sound,” the complaint reads. “She was in and out of consciousness for an unknown amount of time but awoke again at some point to Wayne performing oral sex on her.”
LeMaistre states she became pregnant a few weeks later and terminated the pregnancy. She concluded that Wayne was responsible as she did not have sex with anyone else during that time.
With the lawsuit, she was seeking a monetary judgement for “mental pain and anguish and severe emotional distress.”
After the complaint was filed, Metro Boomin‘s attorney told EW, “This is a pure shakedown. These are false accusations. Mr. Wayne refused to pay [Ms. LeMaistre] months ago, and he refuses to pay her today. Mr. Wayne will defend himself in court. He will file a claim for malicious prosecution once he prevails.”
