As Disney continues churning out live-action remakes of its animated classics, Saturday Night Live updated one of its most classic stories for the YouTube generation.
Following this weekend’s ‘Beauty & Mr. Beast‘ sketch, the Beast Games host (whose real name is Jimmy Donaldson) reacted to cast member Ben Marshall and host Nikki Glaser‘s parody of the 1991 Disney movie, which also poked fun at his controversial game show.
“I didn’t know they were gonna talk about me but the second it aired my phone blew up haha,” Donaldson told Dexerto of his reaction. “Thought it was funny.”
“I’m keeping her dad trapped in a dungeon for 30 days for a chance to win over $300,000,” Marshall’s Disney-fied Mr. Beast says in the sketch. “For every pound he loses, I’ll give a Tesla to a random stranger.”
After noting that his “leading half is beast” and his “bottom half is completely smooth,” Mr. Beast relents, “Ok, I will marry you, Belle… if you can live for 30 days in a smart car with these two greased up sumo wrestlers.”
Confirming he’s “a billionaire,” Glaser’s Belle agrees.
The SNL sketch comes after Prime Video renewed Beast Games for Seasons 2 and 3 in May, a reality competition series inspired by his viral video $456,000 Squid Game in Real Life! The show advertises the largest cash prize in reality TV history with a $5 million pot.
