Nicki Minaj’s legal team just anthem a major snag. Her longtime attorney, Judd Burstein, has abruptly withdrawn from representing her in an ongoing $10 million defamation lawsuit filed by fan Tameer Peak. The suit claims Minaj made false and damaging statements about Peak on a livestream, prompting the high-stakes legal battle.
Court documents show Minaj’s business management firm, The Northstar Group, told the court they had only recently become aware of the lawsuit and requested a delay to find new legal representation. Burstein, while stepping down, emphasized that his decision had nothing to do with the case’s merit. In fact, he called the lawsuit “entirely frivolous” and insisted Minaj did nothing wrong.
Still, this sudden exit complicates things. Minaj’s team is today scrambling to find a new attorney just as court deadlines approach. They’ve asked for 45 extra days to regroup.
