Nicole Kidman admits she was “nervous” ahead of her first major public outing after the bombshell news she and Keith Urban have split after 19 years of marriage.
On Monday, the Aussie actress stepped out at Paris Fashion Week attending the first Chanel show from the brand’s new creative director, Matthieu Blazy, with daughters Sunday Rose, 17, and Faith Margaret, 14.
Kidman spoke to Vogue in a video interview from the high-end hotel, The Peninsula Paris, where rooms cost between $3719 (€2100) to $50,000 (€28,050) per night.
“We’re getting ready for the Chanel show, I’m just very nervous,” she said.
“Do you still get nervous?” the reporter asked.
“Actually, I do … I have my daughters coming with me, but I’m very excited for Matthieu,” she replied.
The nerves are understandable – the Babygirl star is yet to address the divorce publicly, but since the news broke, everything she does makes headlines.

The video also revealed the inspiration behind Kidman’s new “breakup bangs,” with hairstylist Adir Abergel deciding to chop her hair.
“With doing hair, you want to be able to be able to dream and to kind of bring all of these inspirations and to kind of like play, and [Kidman] loves to play,” he said.
“We ended up cutting her bangs today, right before the show, which is super exciting because it’s a new silhouette for the hair.
“Practical Magic has been where those bangs really were, and so this is like a combination of that, mixed with a little bit more Jane Birkin, like a little bit more French mami easiness.”

“Immediately in my brain I was like, ‘Oh, okay. I think [bangs] will be amazing’.
“So, I kind of just presented it to Nicole, and that’s how amazing Nicole is… Nicole is like, ‘Oh, you love that? Let’s do it.'”
Kidman’s outfit for the Paris Fashion Week show was a chic button-down Chanel shirt with cashmere jeans.
Both Sunday and Faith matched their mum’s casual look in low-key outfits.
Sunday, an up-and-coming model, also walked in the Dior show on October 1, one day after her mum filed for divorce from her father.
Kidman’s appearance at the Chanel show comes after she was named as an ambassador for the French fashion house.
“They asked me to become the global ambassador for Chanel again, it feels like coming home, which is an amazing feeling,” the actress told Vogue.
Kidman filed for divorce from Urban last week, one day after news broke that the pair had split.
Court documents reportedly show Kidman cited “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for the split.
According to People, the former couple have agreed to a parenting plan.

The actress will become the primary residential parent of their two daughters and will get 306 days with them, while Urban will get 59 days a year.
Sources have claimed the stars have been living apart in recent months.
It’s reported Urban moved out of the family home in Nashville, with Kidman and their daughters remaining.
