
Newton, Mass. – No. 4 Boston College (3-2) fell to the No. 14 UMass Minutewomen (5-0) with a score of 2-1 (3-1 SO) on Friday night’s home opener.
The Minutewomen scored a quick goal in the second minute of the game to take the early lead.
The Eagles utilized a corner in the fourth quarter to tie up the game. After inbounding to Madeline Leigh, Madelieve Drion deflected the ball into the bottom corner of the net with a pass from Klara Muffelmann.
With the score tied at 1-1 at the end of regulation the Eagles set up for their first overtime of the season.
After two overtimes, it came down to a shootout. Melea Weber made the lone shootout goal for the Eagles as the Minutewomen walked away with the 2-1 victory.
