Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor!
In the sixth episode of the season, after Rick Flagg Sr (Frank Grillo) loses Peacemaker to the alternate universe, he goes to Belle Reve Prison to get some help – and who shows up on screen? Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor!
The actor of course first made his DCU debut as Lex in Superman over the summer, which is also immediately streaming on HBO Max.
Back to Peacemaker – Lex walks in with a cane after his beating at the end of the movie, and is annoyed and disgusted by his lockup in the metahuman prison, where he’s serving a 265 year sentence.
He then asks if there is a device that can pinpoint the location of an open portal for him to get out, to which Rick says there’s not a chance, however, there is a chance at redemption!
So far, that’s all we know, but a sequel to Superman, Man of Tomorrow, is already in the works, which will bring Nicholas back as Lex Luthor.
If you didn’t know, filming on Peacemaker and Superman overlapped last year, as James Gunn was working on both, as he wrote both projects, directed the movie and three episodes of the TV show.
There were rumors of David Corenswet making a cameo as Superman, as he was spotted on set of Peacemaker in his super suit as filming.
Superman‘s Nathan Fillion and Isabela Merced also reprise their roles as Guy Gardner and Hawkgirl, respectively, in Peacemaker season two, as well as Sean Gunn as Maxwell Lord. Frank Grillo also appeared in Superman as Rick Flag Sr, which was his live-action debut as the character that was first introduced in the animated Creature Commandos.
