Priscilla Presley’s damage control memoir Softly As I Leave You comes out tomorrow and she’s been getting that promo.

• Priscilla says after she got pregnant, she and Elvis were worried because neither was ready for a baby. She wondered how she’d feel if she had an accident and miscarried and felt guilty for thinking it. When Elvis asked if she wanted to have an abortion and he’d support whatever she wanted, Priscilla cried and said, “No! We can’t do that. This is our baby!”

• Priscilla says when Lisa told her Priscilla’s boyfriend was coming to her room, Priscilla was sickened and kicked him out. Lisa Marie’s book claims of [Spoiler (click to open)]molestation shocked her because Lisa Marie told her something “completely different” at the time, saying the boyfriend didn’t touch her (she was also sickened by the boyfriend admitting a sexual obsession with an eleven year old Lisa Marie in his memoir.

• Priscilla was “appalled” when Lisa Marie divorced her husband Danny and married Michael Jackson weeks later in 1994, after he had been accused of child molestation. She believes Jackson did not love Lisa Marie and was using her, she only met her short-lived son-in-law once and was relieved when the marriage ended after less than two years.

• Priscilla says Lisa Marie’s opioid addiction after she had her twin girls in 2008 led to the end of her marriage to fourth husband Michael Lockwood. “Lisa had gone steadily downhill from the day she first filed for divorce. It was like my daughter was disappearing inside a woman I had never met. She was no longer my Lisa Marie. Her drug usage climbed as high as eighty pills a day. Desperate to keep her girls, she lived in a tornado of drug-fueled emotions with no relief in sight.”

• Priscilla claims Lisa Marie was furious when Priscilla refused to testify in court and take her side by claiming Lockwood was an unfit dad and abusing the twins. Lisa Marie eventually got primary custody but her relationship with Priscilla was never the same and led to their estrangement.

[This is true- Lisa Marie falsely accused Lockwood of inappropriate conduct with their daughters. This isn’t covered in Lisa Marie’s book by either Lisa Marie or Riley. Priscilla also omits that seven year estrangement also happened because she was getting a salary and taking from the estate without Lisa Marie knowing and without actually having a role, thus stealing money from Lisa Marie]

• Priscilla says despite it all, she and Lisa Marie were close and she last saw her at the Golden Globes, which they attended together.

[Untrue. Lisa Marie attended the Golden Globes with Elvis bff Jerry Schilling and had to be coerced into sitting next to Priscilla. In a leaked email from Riley to Priscilla, Riley questions why Priscilla was acting like she wasn’t estranged from Lisa Marie since 2016]

• Priscilla claims in her memoir that just days before her daughter’s death, her son Navarone almost died in a vicious animal attack.

• During a visit to a friend’s animal sanctuary in California, a camel attacked Navarone and blood was everywhere, leaving Priscilla certain they were going to lose him.

• Navarone needs 34 staples to his head.

• Priscilla says Lisa Marie was never the same after her 27 year old son Benjamin Keough’s death by suicide in 2020.

• She told Lisa Marie to stay strong for her twin daughters, who were eleven at the time and that Lisa Marie tried very hard to stay strong.

• Priscilla says of Lisa Marie’s death: “It was the second saddest day of my life, other than losing Elvis. It took a long time to come to terms with the fact that Lisa was gone.”

• Priscilla says she knew from the moment she walked into Lisa Marie’s hospital room that she was already gone. A machine was breathing for Lisa Marie, and even though she had a heartbeat, there was little brain activity. “Her spirit, always so vital, wasn’t there.”

• After a code blue and Lisa Marie’s heart stopping, doctors were able to restart Lisa Marie’s heart. When Priscilla asked what kind of life will Lisa Marie have if they kept her on the machine, the doctor told her Lisa Marie would have no quality of life at all. Priscilla told them to remove Lisa Marie from the machines (Lisa Marie’s daughter Riley was on a plane to the hospital, she would not get to say goodbye to her mother before her passing).

• Priscilla said when she told Danny Keough- Lisa Marie’s ex-husband whom lived with her and wouldn’t leave Lisa Marie’s side at the hospital- that they needed to go tell the family, Danny cried out, “No, Nona! Don’t go! We can’t leave her all alone!”

Priscilla said, “It was unbearable. I began to sob. I don’t remember falling. I know that [my cousin] Ivy caught me. After that, everything went dark. I can’t remember. I don’t want to remember.”
