If you’ve ever spotted a pair of heels embellished with crystal bows, they’re likely the beautiful work of luxury footwear brand Mach & Mach. Its shoes are fierce, glamorous, sophisticated, feminine, and topped with chic bows. Anything from Mach & Mach, however, comes with a steep cost tag. Its flats, in particular, go for upwards of $500. For those who can’t take that much of a blow to their bank account, QVC sells an alternative that carries the essence of the OG but at a fraction of the cost.
By a fraction, I mean $401 less. BCBGeneration’s Kristin Flat costs just $99 on QVC’s website, which is pretty standard for a pair of ballet flats these days. The lookalikes feature the same double loops and pointed toes that Mach & Mach is known for. The more affordable shoes come in two versatile colorways: black and silver. So if you’re prioritizing timelessness and contrast, the black version might be more your vibe. If you’re on the hunt for an eye-catching shoe that can serve as the focal point of your OOTD, stand out in the silver option. Either way, you’re going to trick everyone into thinking you’re flaunting $500 luxury shoes, when in reality, you just found a huge steal at QVC.
There are two key differences between the pairs, with the first being that the OG rocks a wraparound ankle strap, while the lookalike has a slingback design. But that’s no biggie if you prefer a design that offers more support at the heel (AKA you want to ensure your feet won’t slide out of your shoes as you strut your stuff). Also, as is to be expected, Mach & Mach’s offerings utilize real crystals, while BCBGGeneration relies on rhinestones. The average eye, though, would never be able to tell the difference.
While there will inevitably be a difference in quality and construction, the aesthetic is there. So hop on the bow trend in the most chic way possible, thanks to BCBGeneration’s Kristin Flat. It’s perfect for a fancier occasion, the office, or really anywhere that could use a bit more sparkle.
