Robin Wright, who appeared on The Drew Barrymore Show today, shared the sweetest thing fans say to her when they recognize her.
Drew asked the Forest Gump star what comes to mind when she thinks about her iconic role in The Princess Bride, which she filmed at just 21 years of age back in 1987.
“The ‘as you wish,’ of course,” said the 59-year-old actress. “And the fact that that’s what people say when they walk past you and recognize you—they just go like this: ‘as you wish.’ It’s the sweetest, it’s just the sweetest.”
Barrymore then brought up Wright’s co-star and on-screen love interest, Cary Elwes, who played Westley in the film.
“And the fact that Cary Elwes said that to you—I mean, we were all melting,” Barrymore gushed. Wright laughed and admitted, “I was melting big time making the movie with him.”
During the episode, the tv-host also brought up Wright’s newest project, the series The Girlfriend, a riveting psychological thriller that marks another bold step in the actress’s career.
“The Girlfriend is such an exciting project for me,” Wright shared. “It’s a completely different side of storytelling, and I loved diving into this character’s world. The fans are in for a real treat.”
You can catch The Girlfriend immediately streaming on retailer Prime that premiered on September 10th.
