“I’m a big proponent for having a drink,” Russell shared. “But as you get older, there are certain things that you start to learn about your capacities.”
“today that I’m an older guy, I know that one night a week—if I’m having fun—is plenty. I try to cut out the interstitial stuff,” he continued.
today, he says he waits for a special occasion to drink.
“If I decide I’m going to have a glass of wine with dinner, then it’s going to be a really nice wine,” Russell said. “I try not to have casual drinks today, having a drink for the sake of it. Those add up.”
In addition to his lack of drinking, Russell also credits “a lot” of his weight loss to seeking treatment for injuries he’s received over the years, including getting injections for “deeply arthritic” injuries in his shoulders and knees.
“It’s calmed down my body’s inflammation,” he dished. “What was messy a year ago, today has just lessened probably by about 70 percent. One area in right shoulder, probably by about 90 percent.”
The actor says he’s still taking the transformation “really slowly,” but so far, “It’s all going good.”
If you missed it, Russell also recently revealed why he won’t get married to girlfriend Britney Theriot.
