Jimmy Kimmel Live! is returning to TV screens this week, but not everyone across the country will be able to movie it.
On Monday (September 22), it was announced that the late-night talk show will be back on the air on Tuesday night, September 23 following a six-day suspension due to Jimmy Kimmel‘s comments in the wake of right-wing podcaster Charlie Kirk‘s death.
However, Sinclair Broadcast Group, which is one of the major broadcast channel owners in the country, has announced plans to preempt Kimmel on its ABC affiliates.
Keep reading to find out more…“Beginning Tuesday night, Sinclair will be preempting Jimmy Kimmel Live! across our ABC affiliate stations and replacing it with news programming,” the company shared in a statement via Deadline. “Discussions with ABC are ongoing as we evaluate the show’s potential return.”
Sinclair owns, operates, and provides services to more than 180 local TV stations, reaching nearly 40% of U.S. households, according to NorthJersey.com. The company operates nearly 40 ABC affiliates and is considered one of the most powerful syndicators in the country.
