The Dubliner has officially headed down under to take part in the banger ITV show fronted by Ant and Dec, and her supportive husband Spencer is behind her every step of the way
Spencer Matthews has reacted to his wife Vogue Williams entering the I’m A Celebrity jungle, saying “what you see is what you get” and that she will “light up the jungle”.
The podcaster and presenter was revealed to be making a late entrance into the show alongside Celebs Go Dating star Tom Read-Wilson at the end of Wednesday night’s episode.
Vogue’s foray into jungle life will be shown on screens tonight, and Spencer is “delighted” that the news is finally out after weeks of rumours.
Taking to Instagram, he wrote: “Delighted that I no longer need to sidestep this rumour!! It’s true, she’s in!!
“Soon, the world gets to see what I’ve know for nearly 9 years – my wife is absolutely extraordinary.
“Vogue isn’t just fearless and gorgeous on TV – she’s like that in life. What you see is what you get. She throws herself into opportunities with a rare mix of warmth, humour, grit and heart, and I’ve never met anyone who uplifts people quite the way she does.
“She is loved by all and for good reason. She’s my best friend, a phenomenal wife and a perfect mother.
“I’m very proud of her for taking on I’m A Celeb. She’ll be stepping outside her comfort zone, and that takes courage and if anyone can light up that jungle, it’s her.
“To my amazing wife – good luck, my love. Be brilliant, as you always are.
“The kids and I are behind you every step of the way.”
Vogue’s new challenge comes ten years after Spencer was forced to quit the show after it came to light that he was secretly taking steroids.
But there is no bad blood as the reality star turned entrepreneur can’t wait to see how his wife gets on.
Unfortunately, Spencer won’t be able to go to Australia to cheer Vogue on, as he is in the middle of his new charity initiative – completing seven triathlons on seven continents in 21 days.
Before heading into the jungle, Vogue said Spencer is “really happy” she is doing the show.
She said: “He is excited and he thinks I will enjoy it. But he is going to be doing his next challenge when I am in the middle of doing this!
“Thankfully, I have got a big Irish family who are helping us [with childcare].”
Vogue added that her biggest worry is missing her and Spencer’s three children – Theodore, Gigi and Otto.
“I am scared of everything, but I think what I am going to struggle with the most is missing my children,” she said.
“I’m very worried about missing the kids, as I have never been away this long before and I spend such a huge amount of time with them. It will be my biggest struggle.”
