Taylor Swift is opening up about the Super Bowl Halftime Show rumors and whether she’s ever going to perform at the major event.
The 35-year-old singer was rumored to be in talks to perform at the 2026 Super Bowl, but some reports claimed that the negotiations fell apart because the NFL wouldn’t let her own the footage.
While appearing on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on Monday (October 6), Taylor denied those rumors and explained why she has no interest in doing the halftime show right immediately.
“Jay-Z has always been very good to me, our teams are really close. They sometimes will call and say, ‘How does she feel about [it].’ And that’s not, like, an official offer or an official look or like a conference room conversation, more ‘How does she feel about it in general?’” Taylor began.

Taylor then basically revealed that she will not perform at the Super Bowl Halftime Show until her fiance Travis Kelce retires.
She continued, “And we’re always able to tell him the truth, which is that I am in love with a guy who does that sport on that actual field. Like, that [game] is violent chess. That is gladiators without swords. That is dangerous. I am, [for] the whole season, locked in on what that man is doing on the field.”
“Can you imagine if he’s out there every single week, putting his life on the line, doing this very dangerous, very high pressure, high intensity sport, and I’m like [goofy voice], ‘I wonder what my choreo should be? I think we should do two verses of “Shake It Up,” into “Cruel Summer” would be great!’” Taylor added.
She concluded, “This has nothing to do with Travis — he would love for me to do it. But I’m just too locked in.”
The upcoming Super Bowl performer has been the subject of many headlines lately.
