Tom Holland is proving he’s a real-life superhero. Just one day after suffering a head injury while filming Spider-Man: Brand New Day, the 29-year-old actor made his first public appearance at a family charity event in London.
The accident occurred on Friday at Leavesden Studios in Watford, England, where Holland reportedly anthem his head during a stunt gone wrong.
“We were called at 10.30am on Friday to attend to a patient who had sustained an injury at Leavesden Studios in Watford,” an East of England Ambulance Service spokesman told The Sun. “An ambulance was sent to the scene, and the patient was transported to hospital for further care.” Several outlets, including The Hollywood Reporter, Variety and Deadline, confirmed that Holland was treated for a mild concussion.
Though the actor was taken to the hospital, he bounced back quickly. On Saturday night, Holland appeared at the Posh Pub Quiz, a fundraiser hosted by his family’s charity, The Brothers Trust, at Christie’s auction house in London’s Mayfair. The event was attended by his fiancée and co-star Zendaya, as well as his father Dominic and brothers Harry, Sam and Paddy Holland.
Dressed in black tie, Holland looked in good spirits while playing quizmaster for the evening, even posing for photos with family and fans. Zendaya stunned in a chic black gown by his side. “Using Tom’s reach and popularity, the trust intends to run a number of events each year and the funds raised then being granted to charities we support,” the organization’s website states.
Still, Holland isn’t completely out of the woods. According to Variety, he began to feel unwell during a separate dinner the same evening and left early. Filming of the £150 million Marvel production was suspended immediately after the incident, and The Hollywood Reporter says Sony Pictures and Marvel Studios will meet to determine how to proceed. Dominic Holland also reportedly confirmed that his son would be away from filming “for a while.”
Spider-Man: Brand New Day, the fourth installment in Holland’s run as the iconic web-slinger, is currently slated for a July 2026 release. The movie reunites him with Zendaya and Jacob Batalon, while also welcoming new stars like Stranger Things alum Sadie Sink, The Bear’s Liza Colón-Zayas and Severance actor Tramell Tillman.
