The weekend has started off on a rainy note for some of us here in southern New England.
Communities south of the Massachusetts Turnpike, especially South Shore, the Cape and the Islands, will have the best chance of seeing rain this morning, lasting into the early afternoon for some.

How much rain are we talking about? A tenth to a quarter of an inch of rain is possible. Some of the highest totals will move over the Cape and Islands.

We’re not expecting severe weather. The good news is that we’re not expecting rain all day today. In fact, we’ll see gradual clearing by mid-afternoon. A few folks could even see a peek of sunshine before sunset.
High temperatures will be in the upper 40s this afternoon. Low temperatures tonight will drop into the upper 20s and lower 30s.
Sunday will be a touch cooler, with highs in the mid 40s. We’ll see partly sunny skies. A sprinkle or two could develop north. More sunshine is expected on Monday with highs in the upper 40s.
Thanksgiving week forecast
Beyond Monday, our weather will become a bit unsettled. In fact, a frontal system will push toward New England by Tuesday, giving way to late day rain. The rain will continue into Wednesday, becoming more widespread.
What will the weather be on Thanksgiving?
On Thanksgiving, a few showers could linger into the morning. Some of our forecast models, though, keep the rain around through Thanksgiving afternoon while others dry us out. Stay with us for updates.
High temperatures will climb into the upper 50s to near 60 on Wednesday. By Thanksgiving, highs will drop back toward 50 degrees. Then, by Black Friday, temperatures will dip into the mid 40s.
