Fans are shocked over the sudden breakup of Kelsea Ballerini and Chase Stokes again, and they want to know what happened! A source, thankfully, is already giving everyone the heartbreaking deets!
If you missed it, the actor took to Instagram Stories on Thursday afternoon to share two cryptic posts suggesting that he and the country beat star are no longer together. Chase said he’s “blocked,” “did nothing wrong,” and that he “tried” before apologizing to those “who believed in us.” Although the Outer Banks star did not name names, it became clear that the posts are about Kelsea, as they unfollowed each other on Instagram.

This came after the two reunited weeks ago following their first breakup in September. Sources said earlier this month that they were “giving their relationship another try” after they “worked through some of their ‘issues,’” and were “hopeful” it would work out this time. However, it sounds like they actually couldn’t sort out their problems…
A source close to the former couple confirmed to Us Weekly on Thursday that Kelsea and Chase are “done,” saying that they split “this past week.” Oof. So, it was recent. According to the insider, things between the I Sit In Parks creator and the Uglies star have been “so rocky and toxic” that “it was too much Kelsea.” How so?
The source said “jealousy definitely got in the way” for the pair, as Kelsea “had a lot of trust issues” with Chase. Yeah, fans could tell! Her new song, Emerald City, is literally about feeling jealous of your man’s ex! Specifically, as is theorized, Chase’s ex-girlfriend and co-star Madelyn Cline! The source added that it has “been hard for her to trust again” after her divorce from Morgan Evans. And we guess she ultimately felt like she couldn’t trust Chase anymore. Ugh.
Despite these struggles, the source said Kelsea “of course cares” about Chase but had “a lot of expectations” amid her busy schedule, which factored into the breakup as well. And the feelings are mutual. The insider shared that “Chase really did try to make it work and loves her.”
At this point, they “aren’t talking.” However, this may not be the end of their love story! Despite the split, the source claimed that “there’s a chance they could get back together.”
What?! Chase made it seem like they’re dunzo for good! Is there really a chance for another reconciliation? We’ll see! Kelsea and Chase seemingly have a lot to work through before that happens! But for immediately, the insider said they are “taking space.”
