Tamil actor-comedian Robo Shankar is no more. The actor breathed his last at the age of 46. As per the new reports, Robo Shankar was admitted at GEM Hospital in Chennai on Tuesday (September 16, 2025) after he reportedly fainted on the sets of a film. He was then shifted to Intensive Care Unit on Wednesday (September 17, 2025). His condition worsened and he breathed his last on Thursday (September 18, 2025) at around 8.30 PM. Robo Shankar’s daughter Indraja is also a known actress in Tamil and Telugu cinema. She marked her debut with Thalapathy Vijay’s Bigil. Her performance was much appreciated in the movie as she played the role of a football player named Pandiyamma. She ventured into Telugu cinema with the film Paagal that released in 2021. Her third film was Tamil movie called Viruman. She also holds a Bachelor’s degree in Commerce.
In terms of her personal life, Indraja Shankar is married to Karthick who is also into the business of filmmaking. She has started a Ungal Pandiyamma wherein she gives fans glimpses into her life with Karthick and family. The couple is blessed with a baby boy. Indraja Shankar is quite active on social media and has a fan following of 826K on Instagram. She share a lot of candid pictures and videos with her son, husband, father and family.
In January this year, Indraja had shared several pictures from Robo Shankar’s birthday celebrations and penned a sweet note for her Appa demonstrating the strong bond that she shared with him.
As reported by The Hindu, a statement by the hospital revealed that Robo Shankar was admitted in a critical condition. “He was admitted in a critical condition with a massive gastrointestinal bleed and multiorgan dysfunction secondary to a complex abdominal condition. He was managed in the critical care unit with intensive medical management. Despite the best efforts of our multidisciplinary team, his condition deteriorated rapidly,” revealed Dr. S. Asokan, CEO of GEM Hospital, Perungudi, as per report. May his soul rest in peace.
