
Woman accused of shoving woman, 63, off MBTA bus admits to sufficient facts
MBTA TRANSIT SYSTEM. TONIGHT, THE WOMAN ACCUSED OF PUSHING AN OLDER WOMAN OFF AN MBTA BUS IS BEHIND BARS. 32 YEAR OLD LUIS PINEDA IS CHARGED WITH ASSAULT AND BATTERY ON A PERSON OVER 60, CAUSING INJURY. THE 63 YEAR OLD VICTIM, CAUGHT ON DSLR LANDING ON HER FACE. THE VICTIM WENT TO THE HOSPITAL, STATED THAT SHE HAS NO MEMORY OF THE ASSAULT, HAS A CONCUSSION, A BROKEN BLOOD VESSEL IN THE NECK AND EYE. THIS HAPPENED ON THE 28 BOSTON ROXBURY NEAR THE SUSPECT’S HOME. THE BUS DRIVER SAYING IT WAS OVERCROWDED AND THE SUSPECT WANTED TO GET OFF WITH HER BABY, BUT THE VICTIM WAS IN HER WAY. THIS WOMAN’S CELL PHONE VIDEO CAPTURES THE REST. AN ARGUMENT ENSUES, CULMINATING IN THE SUSPECT SHOVING THE OTHER LADY OFF. THE SUSPECT THEN GETTING OFF AND WALKING AWAY WITH HER THREE MONTH OLD BABY. TRANSIT POLICE SHARING THESE PHOTOS, TRYING TO IDENTIFY HER. BUT PROSECUTORS SAY IT WAS PEOPLE IN THE COMMENTS OF THIS WIDELY CIRCULATED SOCIAL MEDIA VIDEO WHO SHARED HER IDENTITY. THAT PERSON WAS LATER IDENTIFIED AGAIN BY TWO ANONYMOUS PEOPLE AND THEN SUBSEQUENTLY AGAIN BY NEIGHBORS. IT’S CLEAR THAT FROM THE DESCRIPTION, EVEN AS READ BY THE DISTRICT ATTORNEY, THAT THE, THE, THE THE WOMAN WHO WAS WAS PREVENTING HER FROM AND HER CHILD FROM EXITING THE BUS. A woman accused of pushing a 63-year-old woman off an MBTA bus in Boston last month admitted to sufficient facts in the case in court Friday, the Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office said. Luz Pineda, 32, was charged with assault and battery on a person older than 60 causing injuries. In Boston Municipal Court in Roxbury, her case was continued without a finding for two years. The judge imposed several conditions, including she cannot ride the MBTA; she is under home confinement for three months except for any medical appointments for self or children, a condition enforced by GPS; she must complete anger management; she must stay away and have no contact with the victim; and continue with mental health treatment.The incident happened on Sept. 8 aboard the 28 Bus in Roxbury at the Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard/Warren Street stop.Investigators said Pineda wanted to get off a crowded bus with her 3-month-old baby and the victim refused to move when asked. In response, Pineda shouted at the victim before shoving her off the bus. The victim landed face-first on the sidewalk. The victim suffered a cut on her face, a ruptured blood vessel and a concussion, prosecutors said.
