The state of Georgia has filed an appeal in Young Thug’s ongoing YSL RICO case and prosecutors are seeking to overturn a recent ruling that allowed the rapper to regain access to a trove of assets seized during the investigation.
The property includes $150,000 in cash, a fleet of luxury vehicles, and a flashy collection of jewelry.
The state’s appeal stems from a decision last month by Fulton County Judge Paige Reese Whitaker, who dismissed portions of the case after prosecutors missed critical deadlines. “I believe that the court has no choice under current case law and legislative guidelines but to grant this dismissal,” Whitaker stated.

That decision blindsided prosecutors. Deputy District Attorney Jeff DiSantis admitted to Fox 5 that his team was “puzzled” by the ruling, saying it was based on a timeline originally proposed by Young Thug’s defense. He confirmed the office is “reviewing options for appeal.”
Thugger is preparing to drop his new album, UY Scuti, this Friday, which is rumored to include features from Future, Lil Baby, Travis Scott, 21 Savage, Ken Carson, and Mariah the Scientist.
After the slew of leaked phone calls, there is speculation that his relationship with Mariah the Scientist is over after he was caught boasting about cheating on her. One leaked call showed the rapper speaking of Atlanta rapper Future’s poor parenting, so fans are looking to see if that particular collaboration makes the cut.
