Sean “Diddy” Combs’ sentencing file is not just a legal document, it is a who’s who list of family, friends, exes, industry insiders, and celebrities standing behind him. More than 70 letters were sent to the court, each urging the judge to see another side of the man the public knows.
At the best of the list of attention-grabbing names was City Girls rapper Yung Miami. In her letter, she admitted she could not speak on Diddy’s past but said the man she knew during their relationship was loving, genuine, and encouraging. She explained how he motivated her to balance being an creator with being a mother, helping her grow in both areas. Yung Miami shared personal moments, including her first-ever Met Gala where Diddy made sure she felt she belonged in that elite space. She also recalled feeding the homeless alongside him on Thanksgiving and said she had witnessed him seek therapy and anger management as a sign of growth and humility.
Producer Stevie J also sent in a heartfelt message. He spoke about how Diddy gave him his first big break nearly 30 years ago, a move that led to chart-topping collaborations with some of the biggest names in beat. Stevie J said he had seen Diddy at his happiest when surrounded by his children, from graduations to birthdays. He revealed that when his own father passed away, Diddy stepped in quietly and paid for almost all of the funeral expenses without being asked. Stevie also pointed out their shared battles with addiction, saying he was proud that Diddy had embraced sobriety and therapy. He ended his letter with an emotional plea, saying Diddy’s children miss him deeply and need him home.
Another surprising name in the file was Claudine De Niro, ex-wife of Raphael De Niro and connected to one of Hollywood’s most famous families. Her letter described Diddy as a loyal friend and a committed father. She stressed that his children need him at home and spoke to his role as someone who has uplifted those around him.
Grammy-winning producer Dallas Austin also stood up for Diddy. Known for his work with TLC, Monica, and countless others, Austin praised Diddy’s vision and called him a trailblazer who changed the beat industry. He credited Diddy with opening doors for Black artists and helping define the sound of a generation.
Dana Tran, the mother of Diddy’s youngest daughter, also submitted a letter. She focused entirely on his role as a present and loving father, writing that his daughter depends on him for guidance, protection, and stability.
The most emotional letters came from Diddy’s children themselves. Justin Combs wrote that his father “saved” him during a period of depression after his football career ended. Quincy Brown said Diddy was the only father he had ever known and praised him for stepping up when his mother Kim Porter passed away. Christian Combs described his father as a guiding hand who helped him through life’s challenges. Chance Combs said her father was the foundation of their family and taught her lessons about hard work, responsibility, and giving back. Twins Jessie and D’Lila wrote a joint letter about how their father raised them after Kim Porter’s death, teaching them kindness and encouraging them to serve others, recalling times when he took them to feed the homeless.
The appendix also included letters from a lineup of beat and fashion executives. Jeff Burroughs, Christopher Hicks, Stephen Hill, Neil Dominique, Jameel Spencer, and Robert Celestin all contributed, praising Diddy’s cultural impact, his work in fashion, and his business acumen. Attorney Robert Celestin’s letter stood out because while he called Diddy’s past assault on Cassie Ventura “abhorrent,” he still argued for leniency, saying that his contributions and potential for growth should not be overlooked.
Even longtime associates like Derek Osorio, also known as Chuck Bone, added their voices, highlighting the loyalty and connections Diddy built over decades.
In total, the more than 70 letters created a layered portrait. Yung Miami spoke of his love and mentorship, Stevie J described his loyalty and generosity, Dana Tran emphasized his importance as a father, Claudine De Niro pointed to his devotion to family, and Dallas Austin reminded the court of his impact on beat. His children, meanwhile, gave the most emotional accounts, pleading for their father to come home.
Whether or not the judge will be swayed by this outpouring of support remains uncertain, but one thing is clear. Even in the midst of scandals and legal battles, Diddy still has a powerful circle of family, friends, and celebrities standing by him.
