Attitash Signpost – Boston Herald

Stats: Attitash Mountain Resort (https://www.attitash.com/) is two separate peaks that offer 311 acres of skiing. Both sides have beginner terrain although the Attitash side has more. You’ll find plenty of great intermediate cruising and enough advanced trails to keep the hard core folks happy.

They have a robust and well-trained ski and ride school as well with group and private lessons available.

They average 120 inches of natural snow a year and make more. A good season starts around Thanksgiving and runs through the first week of April.

Attitash is on the Epic Pass (https://www.epicpass.com/) system. Right now, prices for the coming season are at their lowest, whether you choose a full Epic pass, a regional one or multi-day tickets, purchasing ahead of time can drive your day ticket price down to less than $50.

Where to stay: Mount Washington Valley has endless lodging choices for every kind of taste. That said, for an Attitash centered choice, consider the Attitash Mountain Village (https://attitashmtvillage.com/) a woodsy little community tucked into the landscape directly across the road from the ski area.

Attitash Mountain Village offers everything from fully-equipped studios (kitchenettes, outdoor grills, fireplaces, some jacuzzis and more) to larger condos for the whole family or a crowd. Skiing is just a quick walk across the street via tunnels (no dodging cars). They also have a community fire pit, pool, clubhouse and other amenities. A nice aside: it’s pretty much slopeside, but tucked into the woods across the road you avoid the sounds of groomers all night. It’s lovely, easy and comfortable.

Don’t miss: Apres every weekend gets lit. On the Attitash side you’ll find more rock and full bands, on the Bear Peak side usually more folk/guitar type. The annual highlight is the final week’s Motor Booty Weekend, a 70s spring send off, this year on March 30.

Other don’t misses include grabbing a brat in the Learning Center building and sitting on the deck of the Attitash base lodge for people watching and cold beverages.

Close by but off site don’t miss top of the line ski demos (and great service) at Andes Ski Shop (https://andesski.shop/), fresh made cider doughnuts at White Mountain Cider (https://ciderconh.com/) (when will they open a kiosk at the mountain? Hint, hint) and Apres at the classic Red Parka Pub (https://www.redparkapub.com/).
