Boston man killed in overnight shooting in Randolph

A Boston man died early this morning after being shot while sitting in his car outside a Randolph apartment building, authorities say.

Randolph Police received a 911 call at around midnight reporting gunshots in the area of Highland Glen Drive and the Castle Village Condominiums, according to the Norfolk District Attorney’s office. When police arrived at the scene they found Deandre Jones, 32, of Boston, suffering “obvious injury.” He was transported to Good Samaritan Hospital, where he was pronounced dead a little after 1 a.m. Thursday.

“Detectives were working through the night, collecting evidence and processing the scene,” Norfolk DA Michael Morrissey said in a statement. “There have been no arrests and the investigation is ongoing.”

Massachusetts State Police are assisting Randolph Police in the investigation. Jones’ vehicle was towed to the local police station for forensic processing, Morrissey added.

Jones’ body is at the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner, where an autopsy could be conducted as early as today, according to the DA.

This is a developing story.
