D.C.-area forecast: Scattered showers today with more rain chances through midweek

Tonight: Cloudy with a lingering shower, mist/fog. Lows: Upper 50s to low 60s.
Tomorrow: Some peeks of sun, chance of p.m. showers/storms. Highs: Upper 70s to low 80s.

An unsettled weather pattern continues today and sticks with us through much of this week. We can expect scattered showers and possibly a few thunderstorms today, with additional rain chances through midweek as a frontal boundary lingers nearby. Temperatures gradually increase the next few days, peaking well into the 80s to near 90 by Wednesday.

Today (Sunday): Scattered showers this morning into the afternoon should tend to be heavier than yesterday, with about a quarter inch of rain likely in many spots. A few thunderstorms are also possible this afternoon. Highs should reach the mid-60s to near 70 with mostly cloudy skies and a light wind from the southeast. Confidence: Medium-High

Tonight: Showers should be diminishing as we get into the early evening. But a lingering isolated shower or two remains possible through the evening with some mist or fog overnight. Skies continue mostly cloudy with overnight lows in the upper 50s to low 60s. Confidence: Medium-High

An isolated shower or two is possible during the morning, with the chance of a few showers and thunderstorms during the afternoon.
