Almost four years after Massachusetts joined dozens of other states in allowing restaurants to sell alcoholic drinks alongside food on a to-go basis at the start of the pandemic, Gov. Maura Healey’s administration is now pushing to make the measure permanent.
Doing so would provide a boost for restaurants, which continue to suffer from challenges ranging from inflation and hybrid-work schedules of their customers to new bans on single-use plastic containers in many towns.
