Wind damage reported as Friday severe weather threat remains


ALBANY, Ga. (WALB) -The WALB First Alert Weather Team has issued a First Alert Weather Day for early Friday, May 10.

The First Alert Weather Day for Friday, May 10 will mainly provide a severe weather potential from 5 a.m. to 10 a.m.

Damaging to destructive wind continues to be the primary threat into Friday morning.

Storm Reports

  • Coffee County: Reports of wind damage to power lines and downed trees have been reported, especially widespread around Douglas. A possible tornado was reported in Ambrose, according to the National Weather Service.
  • Ben Hill County: Wind damage to power lines and downed trees have been reported.
  • Irwin County: Trees and a few power poles reported down.

Plan to have multiple ways to receive any watches or warnings that may be issued.
